On Saturday morning, May 14th, 2011, Indochina Energy Industry Company Ltd held the groundbreaking ceremony to build the solar panels plant with the capacity of 120MW per year (Quang Nam IC Energy Plant).
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Hoang Trung Hai - Member of the Central Executive Committee of Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister of Republic Socialist of Vietnam, the representatives of the Ministries.
From Quang Nam province, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai – Member of the Central Executive Committee of Communist Party of Viet Nam, Quang Nam Provincial Party's Committee Secretary and the comrades of the Provincial Standing Committee, the Standing People's Council, the People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Viet Nam in Quang Nam province; representatives of the Management Board of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, relevant departments and localities of Quang Nam province. Quang Nam IC Energy Plant with the total capacity of 120MW per year invested by Indochina Energy Industry Company Ltd, comprising 4 modules, each module 30MW /year and a manufacturing factory of accessory equipments. Plant is built on nearly 12 hectares area with the total investment of $ 390 million. Plant is designed, installed and controlled by the top specialists in the field of manufacturing solar energy, Appolo HongKong Corp, using the advanced technology of US and European. Under the plan, in May 2012, plant will officially come into operation in the first stage with the capacity of 30MW per year, 100% of the products will be exported. The second phase will be started to implement in 2013 and completed in the early year of 2016. Mr Ngo Van Quang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the above company said "The product of the IC energy plant in Quang Nam will be the solar panels which are using A-Si thin film technology. After finishing the test of the plant scheduledly, the products will be checked favorable to the real environment which the solar panels will be operated in the time of 25 years. The test and qualification of quality for the solar panels IC ENERGY will be done by international standard laboratories under strict rules applied in the solar energy industry. After products launched, a continuous managing program will be implemented by the agents and customers to ensure the above solar panels which meet or exceed the standards of quality and safe in installing at any places. This is a source of valuable feedback for IC ENERGY to promote incessantly the quality of the plant's products". Quang Nam IC Energy Plant is considered as a pioneer for the construction of the solar energy center in Quang Nam province in the future. Expectedly, the total capital of investment of this above center is over $ 1 billion, including the factories of supplementary input devices, the solar panels power, the power generation plant with solar energy, the factory of auxilary output devices with the use of solar batterries and investing to develop the field of photovoltaics. The factory of input devices will effectively exploit the source of white sand in Quang Nam to produce TCO hi-quality glass currently imported 100% . Attended and started the construction IC ENERGY PLANT in Quang Nam, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai commented as this was one of industrial projects in accordance with social needs, development problems and energy security of Vietnam and countries in the world. The proportion of using renewable energy is considered to raise up to 25%. As the result of this, renewable energy, including solar energy will be expanded to the market more and more.
"In the context of increasing demand, traditional energy sources of the world as well as Vietnam are exhausted, then finding and developing new energy sources, renewable energy like wind power, solar power ... is inevitable. These projects produce solar cells, wind power installation will be an important prerequisite for achieving goals for renewable energy accounts for 5% of the energy structure in 2015 and 8% in 2020 which the Government has set out " Deputy Prime Minister said.
Deputy Prime Minister suggested the investors, local government to take efforts to put the project into operation as scheduled, in 2012 with the first product to meet market demand. And the plant will be expanded the scale and plans for building the first solar power production center of Vietnam in Quang Nam province.
